TRIUMPH Transition Institute is dedicated to giving students with learning differences the finest, most individualized, education and support they need to achieve their full potential in life. It is the schools’ aim to foster a greater understanding and support for all people with learning disabilities by training educators, supporting our families and enlightening the community.

Vision

To produce well rounded, independent learners who are capable of succeeding in both academic and occupational settings.

Mission

To educate and empower students with learning differences from culturally, ethnically, and economically diverse backgrounds to recognize and optimize their full potential.

We believe that:

  • All students can learn.
  • Success is more than academics, it also includes being self-aware and being able to persevere and set goals.
  • Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
  • Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches and resources to support their learning.
  • Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate differences in learning styles.
  • A student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff.
  • A student’s success in life is dependent as much on his/her ability to develop self-determination skills as it is for him/her to learn to read, write and do math.

The Institute facilitates the development of self-confidence, self-advocacy and provide students with the academic foundation necessary for them to reach their true potential.

To achieve our mission, we are committed to:

  • Providing parents with a quality individualized education for their child through access to effective and innovative multi-sensory instructional programs.
  • Providing a learning environment focused on the whole child, including intellectual, physical, social, emotional aspects.
  • Committing to continuous program improvement by providing teachers access to innovative professional development opportunities.
  • Encouraging and supporting opportunities for students to grow by participating in internships and community service projects.
  • Providing authentic, sustained caring and respectful relationships and partnership between teachers, parents, students, staff members and the community at-large.
